How ya Doin?
Hi, How Ya Doin?
F - How are you doing?
T - I am talking to you.
F - No, no, no HOW are you doing?
T- How am I doing what?
F - Actually, “How are you doing?” is a GREETING. It means “How are you?”
T - Why don’t you just ask “How are you?”
F - Because native speakers don’t say “How are you?” very often. We say “How’re you doing?” or “How’s it going?”
T - “How’s it going?”
F - It means life. How is life going? Great? Good. Not bad? Lousy?
T - Life is going OK I guess. I don’t think about it.
F - When English speaking people meet each other they usually ask “How’s it going?” and than tell each other about what is happening in their lives recently or since they last saw each other.
T - O.K. How’s it going?
F - Not bad. I’ve had a crappy fucking flu for about a month so that sucks. I’ve had a lot of time to work on my projects though. That has been nice.
T – Projects?
F – Yes I always have a lot of projects. For example these days I am making a film about my life in Taiwan, making a Chinese/ Japanese sandwhich tape, preparing personalized langauage material for my students, studying Chinese and contributing to an international politics forum
T – Wow.
F – Yeah, wow.
